@manton I like Pixelfed, but it is slow. At least the instance I’m on is. I also like Sunlit, but because the app displays any image the people I follow post, it often is a bland experience. I suggest giving us an option to have our photos posted on Sunlit. It would require an extra on step on our part, but I think that act of intention would lead to better photos and a better experience.

@jospehaleo I think Pixelfed is overloaded with new people right now. Good feedback about Sunlit. We really need to do an app update... There's a new version that has been sitting around. Personally, I'd be fine with photos-only by default.

@manton just wanna add +1 to what @jospehaleo says: to me there’s a huge difference between the photos I want to post and the image files i add for contxt, screenshots etc. Sunlit (and pixelfed actually) put all files in the feed. Dunno how to fix this?

@thomasrost @manton. Agreed. The current setup of Sunlit removes any friction, but there’s no discernment. I wouldn’t, for example, want Pixelfed to post any images I share on Mastodon automatically. A prompt to share with Sunlit and a checkbox would do the trick.

@thomasrost @jospehaleo The more I think about this, the more I think we should just go all-in on photos with Sunlit. Screenshots and memes and other things can be filtered out. If people want to see everything, they can just use the main Micro.blog app or something else.

@manton That sounds like a good idea. I stopped using it because it didn’t make sense to have it and Micro.blog on my phone.

@manton I stopped using it because too much of my feed was memes.

@manton I think this sounds great... I recently decided to post my photos to Pixelfed through Micro.blog... and having a dedicated app for that would be handy... cc @thomasrost @jospehaleo

@jospehaleo I think Pixelfed has gotten noticeably slower in last week. I guess people are signing up.

@bloftin2 Like, really slow. I understand the reasons why, but not a good look or experience.

@manton I like that. Or you add Pixelfed to your offering.
