Happiness is a well filled podcast queue.
@johnjohnston How the heck did you get that open pedagogy podcast I canât find the feed for Overcast in search or by adding a URL if I could find the right one?
@adamprocter it was tricky. I did grumble on Twitter;-)
It is on spreaker
Spreaker does a great job of hiding feedsđ˘
Castro, my podcatcher shares links to sub in CastrođĄ
Finally
www.spreaker.com/show/2861...
@johnjohnston Just curiousâdid they change the webpage after you grumbled? Because I see a giant orange RSS icon on that webpage that links to the feed (but absolutely no link
tags in the head
like normal feeds have!)
@smokey the showâs homepage: voiced.ca/gettin-ai... shows no rss for me. You need to follow the ellipsis on the widget. The spreaker page I linked to only has feed icon on desktop. Not on mobile, where I did check source. Confusion reigns;-) cc @adamprocter
Confusion reigns;-)
That it does! Last night, I had looked at the Spreaker link John shared on desktop and saw the big orange feed button, but I see now it gets completely hidden on mobile (the random link
element with the feed URL for the big orange button still appears to be in the page source on mobile for me; itâs just not visible on the page).
To get the RSS link on the showâs homepage, you have to click the âMOREâ link under the description in the on-page player on desktop, or the Details tab in the on-page player on mobile!
I agree, both places go out of their way to hide the podcast feed; goodness! John was absolutely right to grumble! Whatâs so hard about including a simple, always-visible subscribe link on both desktop and mobile?! đ
@smokey @adamprocter i think services like spreaker ha e their own app so RSS might not be an important feature for them.
@johnjohnston @adamprocter Half-way to âexclusive audio showsâ masquerading as âpodcastsâ đŠ
@smokey yes indeed, I did get the sense that they where trying to push me to getting their own app for listening, that was not going to happen
