@johnjohnston This is great! And it feels like it’s the perfect image to accompany your thoughts on Fireworks.
(I never used Fireworks, but @hicksdesign also always sung its praises, even as it grew old and unloved. Which reminds me, I need to poke him about using his Micro.blog account…)
@smokey the really great, for me, thing about fireworks is the separation of layers and frames. This makes animation a lot simpler in my head at least.
@johnjohnston @smokey I went to a web design conference in 1998, where Adobe showed off the brand new Fireworks. My jaw dropped when I saw how powerful it was, for the time. That's back when I just loved Adobe. I said to one of their people, "It must be so gratifying to make stuff that people adore!"
@macgenie @smokey I first got Fireworks when it was macromedia and the education licence for whole bundle was peanuts. I had 5 licences and was teaching 10 yr olds flash without much of a clue;-)
@johnjohnston @smokey Thanks for the correction to my memory. I saw the debut of ImageReady, not Fireworks. Eventually I ended up with Dreamweaver and Fireworks when Adobe acquired Macromedia, even though I was a GoLive Cyberstudio and ImageReady fan.
