At first I wasn’t going to cancel my Washington Post subscription… but I did. There’s not really a better way to send a message to Jeff Bezos that this was a bad call so close to the election. It’s not like a small company where you can send an email and have your voice heard. 🇺🇸

@manton canceling Prime would likely be even more effective.

@joec How will I get the ridiculously fast shipping that I don’t actually need but have become spoiled on? 🤪 But it’s true.

@manton Canceling Amazon Prime would have a much bigger impact.

@manton I share your torn feelings. Apparently the union has asked people not to cancel and I believe it’s important to support journalism.

It's similar to my ambivalence about Starlink. I love what the engineers have accomplished but Musk is driving me nuts and the sky pollution is a big problem for earthbound astronomers!

@manton @joec But how will you watch Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power?

@kirbyt ironically, I’m just catching up on season 2 now. (I don’t hate it as much as everyone else seems to.)

But I wouldn’t mind finding an “alternate” way to view it. Without commercials.

@joec Definitely without commercials. Commercials are a main reason I don’t watch more on Prime Video.

@kirbyt Yep. I have no idea how people watch commercials on a regular basis.
