I don’t do resolutions but this year I’m giving the Basecamp eight-week cycles a try. First cycle has plans for Working With @TextExpander. 😉
@joebuhlig We tried it this year, but after a few cycles we found that 8 weeks was too long for us. Probably this is because we are not a development company but more a service business. After some trial, we now work in four-week cycles.
@jeroensangers I tend to work on a single project or a bank of small projects at a time. It kind of follows development cycles of some form. Thus, I think it would work in my case. But I can easily see how a service model would struggle with it.
@joebuhlig I believe working in cycles might be useful for almost any kind of business, though I recommend experimenting with details such as cycle length and planning structures.
