Happy to say that mnml already supports the new Summary feature @manton introduced today! No need to fashion your own summaries in the first paragraph and add a “more” tag anymore. I’ll be real happy once MarsEdit supports it too. (Ahem, @danielpunkass. 😬)
@AlexWolfe If Sumo doesn't already support it, I'd bet $100 that @Mtt will make sure it does real quick. (I suspect it already does though).
@jimmitchell Cool! Yeah, I need to chat with @danielpunkass. MarsEdit has excerpts for WordPress so hopefully we can work out something similar for Micro.blog.
@manton just exploring this on the web at the moment (happy soldier here) - any plans / timeline to add it to the apps?
@manton Hopefully this is a roadmap item: When exposing the Title field for a new post in the web UI, the Summary field is exposed too. It's available for existing posts with titles, but I'm not seeing it for new posts. Unless I'm missing something, of course... Tell me to be patient if it's roadmap.

@danielpunkass The excerpt field enhancement works great for me! 🤙🏻 As a former WordPress user, it's exactly what I was expecting.
@danielpunkass it works! I like it, though I wonder if we need a character count on that field as well. Maybe I'm not pithy enough.
@jsonbecker Hmmm... harder to imagine the use case for character count on excerpt, but I might be convinced!
@danielpunkass short answer— since excerpts can be displayed on timelines and are meant to be somewhat shorter, it’d be helpful to know I actually wrote something shorter enough.
