#Seattle life moment:

For all of the apparent newcomers I was in line with yesterday at the University Bridge—when a bridge goes up, just wait.

By the time you turn around and get to another bridge, it will be going up for the same boat.

That's just how it works.

@jessekelber I remember waiting at the Fremont Bridge once. Took about five minutes. As someone who was on foot, I wasn’t about to look for another bridge. But, still, five minutes isn’t much.

@skoobz Exactly. The longest I can remember waiting for a bridge...maybe 8-10 minutes and that was mostly because of the crappy light timing once it went down! To get from Fremont to the nearest alternative means to go all the way to the Ballard Bridge, which Google says is just over 2 miles and 7 minutes away. Double that to come back on other side of the cut... Sigh 🤦🏼‍♂️

@jessekelber @skoobz It's entertaining being on a sailboat going under said bridge and watching several of the drivers put their middle fingers out for you. :)

@hollie Maybe they’re signalling that they would like a sailing course? ⛵️🫡
