Can we all take a moment and rejoice that the NHL season starts tonight?
greghiggins.micro.blogCan we all take a moment and rejoice that the NHL season starts tonight?
greghiggins.micro.blog@pimoore I know that's right. I'm putting together my game preview for tomorrow night's Stars game and that's one of things I've mentioned.
@sku_b I'm extremely fascinated by the Kraken for some reason. I love their jerseys and that logo too.
@greghiggins From all accounts, they seem to know what they’re doing in the front office too. Can’t wait until the home opener. Everything looks like it’s in good hands across the board.
@sku_b I think its crazy that the home opener isn't until next Saturday. I would have thought the league would want to try and get those fans engaged right away.
@greghiggins The league was making sure the arena was fully ready I believe. Given their presence out there though, I’m sure folks are engaged. There was a decent amount of Kraken fans in Vegas last night.
@sku_b Ok. That makes sense. I wasn't aware of the entire situation. I just noticed the schedule.
@pimoore @sku_b They have to say that right? Either when they come out of the locker room at the beginning of the periods or going on a power play. At some point this has to be incorporated into every game. And I think you should have Lliam Neeson saying it from the movie.
@greghiggins @pimoore They had apparel for sale when the name was announced with “Release the Kraken” on it. My fear is it gets tired quick. “Let’s get Kraken” has been passed around a lot as well, which I like a little better. I’m waiting to see if the Anaheim Ducks say “release the Quacken” when they play us.
@sku_b @pimoore @greghiggins the one and only hocky bar in Seattle is own the street from me. For months now the front window has said, “what’s Kraken, Seattle?”
@Cheri @sku_b @greghiggins @jessekelber I like both of those suggestions, I’d be hard pressed to choose one. Maybe they should use all three and just switch it up each period, except in overtime in which case it should always be “Release The Kraken!”
@danj Sigh. More like thumb issues.
@jessekelber Heh, sorry. Having grown up in Winnipeg and having our NHL team scarper to the 'States for 15 years, I've gotta let you have it. 😉
@danj No worries. Here’s where I admit to being clueless about all things spectator sports. My brother in law was born in Thunder Bay and raises in Minnesota…he’s why I even know about The Angry Beaver. I can tell you about the hiking trails around Whistler, that’s more my speed 😉
