Can anyone recommend a good Dropbox text editor with markdown capability from experience? I need editing files in Dropbox, so not import/export via cloud storage like iA Writer.

I’m happy to pay for a good one. This used to be a lively field but it appears 1Writer and Byword are abandoned.

@BestofTimes For years (until I switched to Micro.blog notes) I used Ulysses for this. You can add Dropbox as a synced folder, and my notes folder has thousands of little files in it. Pretty sure it's still a supported feature.

@BestofTimes So, I kinda got a recommendation: Paper is an amazing Markdown editor (the files can be anywhere, for instance in Dropbox). But it’s way too expensive. 🙊

@BestofTimes For my simple needs, Byword and 1writer continue to serve me faithfully. Almost everything I write starts in Byword (or Bike). 1writer is good on the phone to access notes from The Archive

@BestofTimes Yeah, sorry… 🤦🏻‍♂️ I’ve tried to talk him into lowering it! But it is great. 😅 I bought the lifetime one sometime I had a bit of extra money after a job. 🙂
