Really would love a copy of Logic Pro X for podcast production/editing, but I just can't justify the cost. Its a shame that GarageBand doesn't have a real podcast workflow. Perhaps Ferrite will end up on macOS soon to fill the gap...

@cleverdevil I highly recommend Hindenburg if you are looking for something other than Logic.

@cleverdevil Ferrite on the Mac would be a great option. Maybe ported over with Marzipan.

@cleverdevil It is massively expensive! Not that I edit podcasts, but I use Audacity for all things audio, have done for years.

@RocketPanda seems like its just about as spendy as Logic!

@cleverdevil Have you looked at Reaper?

@manton unlikely many longtime Mac users, I am actually excited about Marzipan because of apps like Ferrite, Apollo, Overcast, and others that would otherwise probably not show up on the Mac. I also love the idea of being able to edit using the same or similar software on both the Mac and iOS.

@vanessa Audacity unfortunately makes my eyes bleed. Its so clunky!

@jeremycherfas I haven't... its certainly priced right for my personal podcasts, which currently don't generate any revenue (though I would love to eventually). Seems interesting, thanks for sharing it with me!

@cleverdevil Ha ha. For me it kind of takes me back to the days of the old midi sequencers & I am far more comfortable with them than the newer music software - which has that effect on me! But then I started out with some weird midi software on an Atari ST, eventually graduating to Evolution Audio Lite and Cakewalk...

@cleverdevil If Ferrite ends up on macOS because of Marizpan that will be incredible! I currently do all my podcast editing in Ferrite but would love to pop between different devices (laptop vs. iPad)

@EddieHinkle I haven't played with Ferrite enough to really know if it'd work for me well, yet, but as soon as I get that iPad Pro I've been wanting, I'll edit an episode of @twodads to put it to the test. On the surface, Ferrite seems pretty much ideal for podcast editing.

@cleverdevil The price is right, it is hugely powerful (which I barely touch), there’s a very engaged community and, for you especially, you can tinker like crazy beneath the hood.

@EddieHinkle I’m the same. Ferrite really needs sync too though. I bounce projects between iPad & iPhone when I need to change devices via sharing archives. It works but it blows. It would be great to have it on the Mac, even better if my projects just existed everywhere.

@vichudson1 Yeah that’s the one thing I wish I could do. I essentially just use my iPad only, but it would be AMAZING to be able to use both iPhone if sync existed (and Mac if Marizpan worked!) that would be the dream!
