@JeffPerry I know you mentioned a little, but talking to you is helping me refine this post I'm writing. - Do you want digital or does it matter? - What have you tried and liked? Hated? - Is there a more specific issue? (Diff jobs to track, bad at scheduling, losing items) Thanks (:

@Verso I’m open to analog planners. I enjoyed bullet journals in the past and traditions weekly planners but my main issue is trying to keep everything I’m juggling between different aspects of my life like the podcasts, blog, freelance editing, and more. A bullet journal just doesn’t seem to have the robust things I need, but maybe I’m not using it to its full potentia

@Verso I’ve tried pretty much everything there is, I have found I prefer constraints over flexibility. I need guidance, not options galore.

@Verso I’m a perfect world I’d like some form of calendar integration, even if it is just being able to see what appointments and plans I have that day. Digital or otherwise. Hope this helps!!

@scientifics The more I look into Things the more I like it, but how do you handle a lot of tasks in there? I foresee have up to 100 items in there spanning the various hats I wear, how do you suggest I keep everything afloat without issue?

@JeffPerry I think with all of these apps, the review part is critical. Going through and pruning old tasks, making sure things aren’t falling apart, making sure the system you have setup is still working. GTD®️ says weekly, and that can seem like a commitment, but it works.

@jeredb I know a big issue I have is review, but I don’t know how to do it correctly. Any links or tips you can throw my way to help?

@JeffPerry I have found trying ruse someone else’s system leads me to adopting a system that doesn’t work for me. I set aside an hour every week to go through every task. Sometimes it takes 15 minutes, sometimes longer. Really just going through it all top to bottom.

@JeffPerry “is this project still alive?” “Does this need to be expanded into a more full project?” “Am I waiting on someone?” “What does this look like in the future?” “Where do I not feel comfortable and confident?”

@jeredb everything should go into your system, but then cut ruthlessly. I track things that I am waiting on responses to, and you wouldn’t believe how shocked people are when you can produce a list of things they owe you.

@JeffPerry I always have a reward at the end of my reviews. Usually a good cup of coffee, but it is becoming a habit that I look forward to.

@JeffPerry I think you would be do fine using Areas and Projects. They also have tags and checklists within todos.

@JeffPerry I don’t use tags, just thought it would be valuable to mention them.
