@JohnPhilpin from what I’ve read this is move from one TOS to another TOS, not moving to another server etc. And I’ve read a tweet from McAskill that they will not remove the free accounts. My speculation is that they will improve the paid version so much (without actually making free worse) that people want to go Pro. But I’m pretty sure that we will not see any major changes in the next 18-24 months. They will be working on changes but I think that it will be under the hood and the major changes will start showing up after that
@mrkrndvs @JohnPhilpin There's a FAQ covering these issues. As @jemostrom says, it's TOS to TOS... eventually there will be some infrastructure changes but there's no sign yet that it will involve changes to account tiers.
Honestly, apart from any other issues this acquisition seems like SmugMug found a way to create an indirect free tier for their service.
