I added two new greeting cards to the Well-Tempered Cards shop on Etsy. It’s fun to look at the whole collection, each photo a little capsule of a moment of awe.
@jean Jean-hi! Great Etsy. I’m very interested in doing something more with my photos. Any chance you’d be willing to share your story with me? I don’t really know where or how to get started…
@WiredDifferently Sure. I used Moo.com to print the cards, which are 4.13” x 5.83”. The quality is high. The price is high too. If I started selling more than a few cards a month, I would need to find a more economical way to produce them.
I have not done much to promote them or to “optimize” for Etsy discoverability.
I use Avery 5292 labels and rigid kraft cardboard mailers, 6.25 x 8.25, for shipping. I buy the postage via Etsy which creates the shipping label to print. (I tried labeling and buying postage at the post office, but it’s easier to use Etsy and then you get tracking.)
Hope that’s helpful. It’s been a fun project, one you can start small.
@ctt Currently the iPhone 17 Pro. Someday I will try a dedicated camera, but I sure love the convenience of using my iPhone. And I rationalize the annual upgrade by comparing it to the cost of getting a new camera. 😇

I read your Etsy profile and saw you’re also practicing sobriety. I’m approaching my 2-year milestone in Sept.

@WiredDifferently I based my pricing on comparable products. Right now it’s not much of a margin because I print in tiny batches at an expensive printer. If I started to sell more, I would look at less expensive options.
Way to go on the sobriety streak. It is the best life for me.
