Pre-snowpocalpse shopping at Trader Joe’s. I’ve never seen it this busy. Reminds me of pre-hurricane shopping in Miami. Or Trader Joe’s in NYC!

@macgenie The local Fred Meyer last night was really amusing. Once we got our stuff, we were in the checkout line for an hour (quite literally); we amused ourselves by watching people's eyes get huge as they walked in the store and realized what they were getting into.

@macgenie Stef went to the Safeway and TJ's at 185 and Evergreen Pkwy, in Tanasbourne (Beaverton/Hillsboro) and said every register was open and staffed, and each one was 9 deep, at Trader Joes. She said Safeway wasn't all that bad. The TJ cashier said they had everyone restocking, as they just got a shipment in. We are prepared up her on the mountain. Be safe

@macgenie I’ve been comparing this a lot to hurricane shopping. As a current Midwesterner, it’s wild to see this.

@macgenie This how it is in North Carolina 48 hours before 1 inch of snow may or may not hit us in the next 24 hours. :)

@thaddeushunt We have like 2 snowplows in Portland. I expect my car to get snowed in when our 2-4” comes in.

@macgenie Aw, well, I hope it all goes well and everyone’s safe. I often joke that the city of Durham has one plow and a salt shaker causing one inch of snow to basically be a foot! It is awful pretty to watch though (sigh)...

@RianVDM In 2017, I was stuck in the house for 9 days without having gone shopping, because I was supposed to be going to California. Flight was cancelled. I remember scraping down to the last random can of food. This storm, with multiple days of snow, might be like that. So I'm probably not the only one who said "never again unprepared!"

@thaddeushunt @macgenie It’s so comforting to see that this happens outside the south, too ;-) (We’re not alone!)
