@jean I think it is very good and informative so I shared it on Mastodon yesterday.

@jean That would be great, thanks! I’ve talked to several people on Facebook who are interested in what Micro.blog is, particularly how it can be both an open blogging platform and social network rolled into one, existing as a paid network, but one free of tracking/advertising.

@jean It’s great, but I’d put a link at the top of the page. You have to hunt for it/scroll to find the link to it. That is, it should be more prominent—up near Pricing/Sign in.

@chrisfoley Yeah. It has always been a challenge to get the gist of it across. The core of it is something that people on Facebook might not realize they would value: their own outpost on the web, not locked into some corporation’s platform, that can communicate with others on open platforms. But advertising-free and troll-free is something people can understand. I can barely tolerate looking at the ad-supported spaces now, after 6.5 years of Micro.blog. 😅

@jean People on Facebook are starting to understand the importance of having their own outpost that behaves in an open manner. Especially Canadians, who are only now realizing that ALL news links (as well as non-FB-monetized product links) will be blocked.
