You folks who put links to longer blog posts in your timeline posts, how do you do that?

I know if I post a longer one, it will automstically put the URL, but how are you pre-emptively doing that when the post apparently hasn’t been created until it is?

@inthedeltawaves can you further explain what you seek to do?

@JohnPhilpin

Say, for example, I write a post that is 1000 words. I know a truncated version will appear in the Micro.blog timeline.

However, I frequently see posts on the timeline that are more like:

“I wrote a blog post about baseball. Check it out here.”

But how are they doing that?

@JohnPhilpin like do they have longer posts not appear in the timeline and then they have to create a separate short list with the link, as in, it doesn’t happen automatically? Sorry if this is a silly question.

@inthedeltawaves i am guessing that it is a separate blog that is not feeding the RSS to MicroBlog ... and no such thing as a silly question ... if there was - I would be top of the class!

@JohnPhilpin ok, thanks. I just wasn’t sure if I was missing a feature or setting.

@xbryan After your post exceeds the 300 character limit, a title field will appear in Micro.blog post window. Do you see that? If you put in a title, that is what will appear in the timeline as a link to the full post.

@jean Oh, interesting. Thank you.

I just posted a long form post without a title and that didn't show up in my feed unless I gave it a title. But it seems like posts between a certain a certain windowed character limit get posted with a link even if you don't give them a title.

@jean for example, I just posted a blog just under 500 characters. That was truncated with a link. But a 3,000 character post wasn't posted unless it was given a title. Is that normal behavior?
