Today marks three months since I had an alcoholic beverage, I have had some non alcoholic beers but that is it.

I feel so much better in myself, my anxiety is lowered, my sleep is improved, it is a win win, if your thinking of giving it a go, I highly recommend.

@richhowell Nice. It is pretty amazing how much better I feel, now 18+ months in. I agree that anyone who is curious about the alcohol-free life should give it a try. 90 days is a good stretch to really appreciate the benefits.

@jean @richhowell It’s fair to say the first while is the trickiest, just breaking the habit. I’m nine years without a drink now and feel a lot better not using it to deal with anxiety and the like.

@BenSouthwood damn, 9 years that is fantastic. Your right though, when you use it to medicate anxiety it is just breaking the habit and proving to yourself you WILL be ok without it.

@richhowell It’s a bit weird when you first meet up with old drinking buddies, but that’s about it.

@BenSouthwood “wanna come for a beer” not really no, can we not do something else

@richhowell I met up with one of my oldest friends last time I went back to my hometown and he couldn’t quite come to terms with the fact I didn’t want to get blind drunk anymore. Shame really, but that’s the reaction you’ll get from people you used to get drunk with.

@richhowell The first 100 days were memorable. After that, it felt like the day counter just clicked by at a speedy pace. I didn't post about it at all until the one year mark. I've been working on a post about the AF Summer Drinks. I never really drank cocktails until I became a zero-proof mixologist.

@jean I’ll look forward to your post on AF summer drinks. I’m curious if you’ve ever tried Wilderton NA botanical spirits? My brother-in-law is their national sales director and introduced us to some really tasty and refreshing AF beverages.

@chrisheck Yes! Wilderton is really great. I like their approach of creating something new, rather than trying to mimic the traditional spirits. Very creative! I have both Earthen and Lustre in my cabinet.
