I’m really surprised how popular the World Cup has been in the US this year. I don’t feel like I’ve ever heard this much about it? I’ve never really paid much attention to Soccer/Football but it feels like everyone loves it now?

@jnjosh Maybe it's the Ted Lasso Affect. We know more or care more about soccer than we did four years ago.

@jnjosh It was pretty popular 8 years ago, the last time the US Men played. I remember lots of gathering places were full for the matches. And US soccer fans in general are always excited about the US Women’s team because they tend to perform better on the international stage than the men’s team.

@gdp Yeah I vaguely remember some of that. I guess it just feels like more this time around—but that could just be bias to the present.
