@jean I have reached the 7 intro in my conjoined DS9/VOY rewatch. Not sure why Kes had to go, she was too earnest I suppose. Neelix has remained.… annoying
@josephaleo I’m appreciating Voyager overall more, as true-to-spirit Trek, but ironically DS9 less, since it veers so jingoistic (and the deus ex RE: minefield arc was just lame)
@SciPhi I wrote off VOY until I heard Brianna Wu exclaim why VOY is her Trek. She made a compelling argument, so I startled re-watching the series. It’s still not my Trek, but I appreciate the show a lot more now. The Greatest Generation and The People v. Star Trek: Voyager are doing a great job covering each episode.
@josephaleo @SciPhi Brianna has been an inspiration to me in many things, including Star Trek. She’ll peel away the BS, and then a thing that never before bothered me.is blindingly obvious.
It’s been almost 7 years that this prompted me to put serious work first into a Voyager episode guide (because a lot of guys who said they don’t like Voyager had not actually watched it), eventually culminating in my podcast Voyager Revisited.
We are all entitled to like what we like. I just felt like Voyager never got a fair shake from the general Trek fan population by when it launched. 25 years later, Voyager’s fandom proves its record-breaking enthusiasm. 🏆🎥

@jean @SciPhi I remember following Brianna on Twitter in the aughts. I can’t remember why, but I think it’s because she lives in Boston and said something kick ass. She kept popping up on blogs I read and podcasts I listen to. I’ve been following her political career for years—an excellent person to know.
Your post was an info dump. I have homework! I'll check out your Voyage episode. Especially the salamander episode. Ewww. And I'll listen to an episode of your podcast while I wind down my night. I'm glad Voyager is getting a doc. All the series should get a doc. Even Enterprise.
@jean My mother-in-law is working her way through DS9 now and not a fan, but I'm so looking forward to when she starts Voyager.
@jean hmmm why oh why was Voyager not given a fair chance, by such a welcoming and generous fanbase no less. Just what was different about this show huh 🤔😇
