My new apartment doesn’t have central air conditioning. One could install a “portable” a/c but I don’t like them. Swamp cooler is nice for close range cooling, but with the extreme temp, I have to worry about Grace. So we’ve decamped to my sister’s house, nephew’s bedroom. 🍀🏀

@Miraz She is no fan of relocation, and will probably stay in the pigloo for the duration. Normally in hot weather, I don’t put the pigloo out because they don’t have much ventilation. But with air-conditioning, it’s safe and it is the favorite hiding spot.

I hope all pets in Portland are being well looked after.

@jean Heh, I just checked the temp there and saw 43 — thought that’s weirdly chilly. Then I saw it wasn’t in the F I was expecting for a US temp. 43C is blimmin hot! No wonder you’ve decamped! Meanwhile we have a polar blast arriving later today. Already snow in parts of the South Island.

@jean If you look closely in this Celtics shrine, you can see the Schweinsteiger scarf I brought him as a gift after a stint in Munich in 2011. I’m not very knowledgeable about soccer so I asked my colleagues which player I should choose.

@josephaleo 18-0 but finally defeated vs. 17-0 undefeated let us split the difference so both sides have a claim to fame.
