@skoobz Love it! I need to get back into my beer reviews, I think is because I don't have an easy workflow like I had before, I think it was via shortcuts. Keep Blogging!

@skoobz Strong +1 on your emphasis on the "log" part. Earlier, I used to question if certain writing was good enough for my blog, but I now post anything and everything, especially things that I want to log in.

@skoobz I want to refactor my site so that the dominant thing is long form posts and the micro posts are something else entirely. I use Funkwhale for album stuff.

@pratik It’s twofold for me. There’s the owning my data part of it and having that control and then there’s the formatting side of it, since my design degree has me conditioned for life. I absolutely hate how social sites have zero rich text formatting. So with that in mind, yeah, I just dump what I need onto my site, tend to the digital garden side of it, and syndicate out.

@jdm FunkWhale would be a great name for something. I love AlbumWhale. I wish I used it more for myself and it’s a good place to find recommendations. Human curation is pretty awesome.

@skoobz Funkwahle is the name of another cool audio project which is why I got confused: www.funkwhale.audio

@skoobz I agree about owning data and making it look how you want it to, but say more, please. I ask because I use dedicated services for most logging needs and then crosspost them to my blog. E.g., Letterboxd for movies, GoodReads/Epilogue for books, Trakt for TV shows, etc. But all of those hotlinks the cover art to the original source. I wish I could host those images at my end so it continues to look pretty.

@pratik Yeah, I’m about reading to copy the source images from my Letterboxd imports so that I’m hosting on my end. I actually love the way they cross post over, but, I’m not a fan of the idea of broken image links if the site goes down. I’m going to do the same with my Glass imports as well.

@skoobz Can you do that? I'm also interested in both Letterboxd and Glass images. I know Micro.blog used to do that by default but doesn't anymore. Manton has mentioned he plans to re-enable that when we import via RSS.

@pratik I’d have to do that manually. Probably dealing with MarsEdit for this. I’d love if importing images was brought back.

@skoobz Need to nudge @manton for that to show it's not just me who's asking for it 😉
