@manton It looks fantastic. Thank you for your tour of Austin murals this month! I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it. I wish we had more of this in my town. I wish the taggers took art lessons and made murals instead.

@manton I wonder if those murals were commissioned or self-initiatives by the artists. If the latter, wow.

@renevanbelzen It's a mix, I think. I didn't keep close track but I would guess many were commissioned.

@mpmilestogo I don't know the precise definition, but personally I consider them the same thing... I guess street art is a specific kind of mural.

@manton I've really enjoyed this series! And too true about murals being fleeting. There was one I used to love when I was growing up, on the side of a milkbar, a large colourful one of Jiminy Cricket in a lolly shop. Where that milkbar once was there's now a trendy café and they repainted that wall some ugly dark shade of grey 😔 Important to take photos when you see them, I think, rather than counting on there being some future opportunity to.

@jayeless Thanks! Too bad they painted it over with just a solid color... I've noticed a couple murals that have been redone with a new painting at least, although not always an improvement.
