I’ve noticed over the last couple of years that my shorter posts are often too tightly edited to come across clearly. My short blog posts from twenty years ago might’ve been better. Going to try to write more slightly long-form posts… Not really full essays, just a couple paragraphs.

@manton The 600-character counter on micro.blog is helpful for me. 300 makes me edit, which is sometimes useful (like in this comment), but 600 is long enough to drive me to saying something useful.

I think it’s still “micro” so long as it’s never 750 words…

@jatowler Yeah, it’s nice when including a short quote because there’s more of the 600 characters for commentary.

@devilgate Nope, it bumps to 600 only if there is a block quote in the post. The idea was that if you’re quoting something else, you need twice the length.
