@monday Where I have been, with emojis. I'd like to go back to Australia (transcontinental train trip, please). Scotland and New Zealand are at the top of my "Next" list. I'm glad I got to Portugal last month, which was on my list because of all the microbloggers!
@jean re Australia train trip. If you have not seen it, I recommend Griff’s Great Australian Adventure.
@monday Where Have I Been. I would still love to go to both New Zealand and Australia at some point.
@monday Here's the list of countries I've visited. I'm focusing on exploring wild places I've already been to further, rather than new countries. Though if there are mountains, I'll climb them 🏔️🏔️🏔️
@monday Here’s mine with short blurbs about what I did in most places. Next up is probably back to Canada, but this time to Montreal since it’s now so close. But for new places I’d love to get out to California and Mexico for climbing.
@monday This is my list! I don't think anything will be added to it for a while (unfortunately), but Viv and I had been talking about travelling to Japan next, or else possibly another US/Mexico trip visiting different cities from the ones we saw on our first one. And of course there are MANY other places I'd also love to visit, but I don't want this comment to get too long... 😅
@monday Here’s my list. I’d like to return to NZ again, and maybe see more of the US. As to new places, Canada and more of Europe would be nice. And a few more states of Australia.
@monday Places I Have Been... It is a short list but there are plans to expand it in the coming years. Cruise to Italy and Croatia has been booked. Ireland, Scotland, Iceland, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand are on the I really want to explore list!
@monday It's really cool to see everyone's lists! You are all such adventurers! I've been to a relatively small number of countries... 🇲🇽🇨🇳🇺🇿🇰🇬🇰🇿. I could count a few others but I went as a kid in more touristy contexts, so I'm not sure I want to
@monday I'll get in on this too! I've moved to the other side of the planet for a new life (UK -> NZ): dfr.me/2023/05/3...
@monday Where next? Without flag emojis, and limited to what an old geezer might actually pull off (which eliminates Australia, New Zealand and Asia because of the tortuous flights):
USA
Never been
Want to go back
Foreign
Never been
Want to go back
@monday I posted my list yesterday, including new states we'll be visiting this year. Next year will add several more east coast states, then the remainder in 2025, and finally Alaska in 2026. That's the plan, anyway.
@monday Where I have been. I’d like to visit Europe - maybe Portugal first? And Iceland. And Argentina. Too many places!
Revisiting Japan and South Korea soon!
@monday here's mine. Portugal is at the tippy top of my list for next year. I also have a strong desire to see South Korea, Denmark, and Estonia, but not sure if I can convince the wife on those 😅
@bjhess @mindofaaronw Portugal was never on my list until Micro.blog. It was such a wonderful place to visit. There's so much I want to go back and do there. And of course, more beers with @maique.
@bjhess @mindofaaronw Beer (and walking tour?) with @maique is legally required, right? I have a friend in Porto and another friend who loved his visit (five years ago or so), so it's always been on my radar. (Also as a place to escape to if I ever had to emigrate. :)
@bjhess It’s not mandatory. Yet. Legislation is being approved in a few weeks that will, in fact, turn that walk/beer combo into law. If you’d like to skip that, your time is running out 🤣😅 @mindofaaronw
@esamecar I did not know that @manton started it all … and now I need to revisit mine and add flags apparently.
And The Canaries? Aren’t they part of Spain @maique ?
@JMaxB ah, a long train trip somewhere is on my list too, Trans-Canada sounds like a treat. I was sad to have missed out on an Amtrak ride when I was in the US this year.
@monday Bhavna and I haven’t left the USA since our trip to Niagara Falls, Canada, in 2012. Our most recent domestic trip was to Cleveland, Ohio. We would love to travel more, but until NATO ends Putin's reign of terror, we’re staying in the Americas. We’re planning a return to St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 2024.

Inspired by @readerjohn, I created a list.
I have lived in the following countries/places, so they qualify under "has been to".
Have travelled to the following countries and states.
### Want to go
Americas
Europe/Asia/Africa
@monday Some people here have an impressive and very interesting travel record!!! Here is my list. We had a longer trip planned to visit Kamchatka by taking the overnight train from Berlin to Moscow and then the Trans-Siberian Railway from Moscow to Vladivostok, followed by a ship journey to Petropavlovsk. However, the current situation is preventing us from traveling through Russia. Alternative travel plans include Africa, South Asia, or South America. However, this would require me to board an airplane 🙈✈️
@monday adding my travel list … as for returns …
Haven’t yet got beyond thinking about this year …but so far
We started in New Zealand
Came up to U.S.A., CA at the end of January
Across to the UK around end of July
Side trips to Portugal, France and maybe Spain
Then back to New Zealand for Christmas (direct or via U.S.A.)
(Jax has plans for a stop over in Fiji .. I am not so sure!)
@monday Where I have been, which is a surprisingly short list considering how much I've traveled.
Japan is high on my list to return to (and I've been back a bunch).
Next up is Chile, then Australia and New Zealand, for my first snow skiing adventure during northern-hemisphere summer.
