@manton What kind of access do apps like @rizzi’s Reeder get to the timeline? I opened it up just now for the first time since last night, intending to catch up on the timeline (position sync!) but it missed most of the day’s posts.

The screen displays a social media feed with usernames, avatars, timestamps, and posts. One post mentions an iPad mini, another references a leak, and a third discusses the show "The Crown."

@jarrod I think it’s just bad iCloud syncing of the normal timeline feed. Reeder Classic iCloud syncing has problems.

@jsonbecker Could be. But my understanding was the new Reeder is using iCloud only for position sync this time, and is fetching source material directly from the RSS feeds. But I logged into Reeder with my Mb credentials, so I’m not really sure how it’s getting that data.

@jarrod It's possible that Reeder isn't paging back for older posts yet to fill the timeline. I'll have to take a closer look at what it's doing.

@manton That’s my guess. For the time being, I’m back to using @sod’s feeds there and it’s working nicely.

@manton hmm… @sod’s feed has gaps in the new Reeder too…

A smartphone screen shows a social media feed with posts from multiple users in chronological order, each containing profile pictures, usernames, and snippets of text. A large red arrow points between posts by Matt Birchler and Alexandra.

@jarrod My experimental feed is just Micro.blog's original feed sprinkled with the conversation links. To avoid gaps, it's up to Reeder to check the feed more frequently. Or, as @manton already pointed out, they could page back in history to fill gaps. At least in theory, but I see no next_url property in the feed. Does the timeline feed support pagination, Manton?
