It's astonishing to me that in 2021 I still can't post to Instagram from my computer. It stops me from doing it. Same thing with Glass.photo if they remain mobile-only. Only looking at photos on tiny screens is disrespectful to good photographs.

@jack Considering that the folks at Glass already have a web app up and running alongside a general air of "indie pro-web"... IDK it doesn't seem like they're going to make the mistake of being as dismissive of computers as Facebook.

@simonwoods Oh right, sorry. I'm just waiting for Glass to get there, and fully expect them to do much better than Instagram. I've not seen any web app yet, other than that it's on the roadmap. Is it available?

@jack Yeah, I can post to Instagram from my computer by turning on "Responsive Design Mode" from Web Developer tools and refreshing, but it's enough hassle that I just don't, a lot of the time. It seems like a daft restriction if they really want to attract even semi-"serious" photographers (which I'm not one, myself, but for anyone who does more than take a quick phone snap and upload it immediately it's annoying!).

@jack It's... there. Not available but I can see it for a flash of a second with this post. I think @manton also mentioned that the existence of the web app is how he got the Micro.blog-Glass integration to work.

@wearsmanyhats Yep exactly. If we're truly going to regulate steering then a lot of these big companies are going to whine a lot, that's for sure.

@simonwoods Thanks, that's encouraging. This old desktop-first guy is looking forward to having it generally available.
