Spent part of the morning researching our 1914 farmhouse, and I think I’ve figured out the 20th century ownership record. Things are still fuzzy pre-1908 (our county section isn’t in the General Land Office records?), and a little unclear in the 1940s-1960s. But I have a sense of it all now.

@jaheppler @jabel I take inspiration from you both. We need to do this for our 1820

@tinyroofnail Do it! If you're lucky enough to have an abstract, most of the work is done for you.

@jabel I believe the neighbor down the road is actually the granddaughter of the original family that built/lived here. I need to go introduce myself. It seems the home stayed in the family between 1908 until 2011.

Fun detective work!

@tinyroofnail It’s a different kind of research I normally do as a historian, but it’s been fun to dig into the property history and pick up some new skills and ways of thinking.
