- One of the smoothest key changes I’ve ever heard.
- Canst thou shred on a mandolin? Yea, verily.
@jabel Thanks for that. I'm not much into pop music, and had never paid attention to the lyrics on Mad World. I'm also not much into bluegrass and had never heard of Sierra Hull.
@jtr I’m going to make my way through some of those links. I’ve know the song for years, of course, but nothing about the story behind it. Thanks for sharing!
@jabel My parish had a group of three young friends who made a CD in a style they called Byzantine Bluegrass. Then two of them married, followed by three sons and busyness. They're finally back to recording. (My son supplies keyboard work as needed.) I've got to go back and listen to the CD.
@jabel Lovely cover. Thanks for sharing. Reminded me of the early Covid video Curt Smith posted with his daughter
@jabel Yes! Several years ago when my internet access improved YouTube became my primary discovery mechanism for new music and Sierra Hull was one that was suggested. Yesterday they resuggested a video from several years ago that I'd watched and really enjoyed at the time. Rewatched it this morning and thought you might enjoy it. Shakey Graves and Esme Patterson, Dearly Departed
@Denny YouTube is also the main way I discover music. I also discovered Shakey Graves there along with another Sierra—Sierra Ferrell, who has become one of my favorites. Thanks for the video; I’ll check it out.
