2 AI things coming:

  1. Bespoke spam emails based on webscraping your acquaintances/coworkers. Maybe not dupe-worthy, but more likely to take time to deal with.
  2. Upload a picture of you and someone (coworker, friend)—generate bespoke video porn. Age/ethnicity/etc. adjustable on request. Terrifying.

@JudsonGreene The voice cloning is also amazingly good now. For legitimate purposes (an in class example of correct but non-interpretive recitation of Shakespeare) I used an AI narrator a bit this week. The site claims they can make a realistic clone of any voice from less than 10 seconds of audio.

@JohnBrady oh, I am 100% scared of the voice cloning. I can’t think of a single legitimate reason I want my voice somewhere I am not in control of it.

@isaacgreene Is that with speechify? I know a guy who had his voice box removed a month or so ago—a pastor—and a guy in his church recorded him so he can play stuff in his voice after it was gone.

@JudsonGreene It was. Well, there’s a use case I had not considered.
