People on blogs feel slightly less performative than people on big social networks.

Yes! This! I wonder why, though.

@ianbetteridge I think it’s partly because of the likes and reposts. You post something that gets some likes, and it feels good, so without realizing it you slowly adjust what you post about to get more likes. This leads to funnier or more dramatic posts until it’s all just a performance for an audience.
