I blogged briefly last year about feature creep when there is no cost to adding features with AI. Need to keep reminding myself of this. I’ve been adding podcast support to Inkwell, but it’s not intended to be a podcast player that can do everything… Just the right set of features.

@manton It definitely makes the product task of making sure you're building the right thing for the right people even more important. User research, feedback loops, and keeping a tight scope become primary skills. They always technically were, but the center of gravity has shifted. Experiencing this and reminding myself of it too.

@ben You’re right, the principles for good work haven’t changed. We just need to be more diligent because the constraints on time are different now.

@manton Am I old fashioned because I want single purpose apps instead of utility knife style apps? It feels like doing one or two things really well vs trying to do all things will serve app devs and users in the long run?

@iChris Not old fashioned, I think it depends on the person and also the app. On mobile especially, smaller more focused apps are often better.
