Further evidence from The New York Times that the November election will be largely decided by people who are objectively ignorant. There’s no way to sugarcoat it.

Nearly one in five voters in battleground states says that President Biden is responsible for ending the constitutional right to abortion, a new poll found, despite the fact that he supports abortion rights and that his opponent Donald J. Trump appointed three Supreme Court justices who made it possible to overturn Roe v. Wade.

@manton I'm not trying to snark, but is this new information to people in the USA? Because that's the vibe we've been getting for the last 6+ years from looking in on the outside.

@manton But probably those one in five voters are already Trump voters and are probably being misled by the conservative bubble. Perhaps it's time to talk about the conservative and/or rural bubble when told about facts/reality cite 'vibes are off' as a reason for their beliefs or are being politically correct in their reasons when asked by a pollster to hide their real reasons.

@iChris Not new information, but I’m feeling that it is just much more dramatic than in previous elections. More and more people don’t have basic facts.

@manton What’s even worse is that these people think they have the facts, because the right-wing propaganda barrage has convinced them of it. They lack the critical thinking skills needed to detect falsehoods.
