I’ve gotten out of the habit of posting to Threads. I like the foundation Meta has built with Threads and expect it to be successful, but I’m going to scale back my use until ActivityPub is ready. Most of what I write (including this!) needs to start on my blog.
@manton The only things I post there, if at all, are photos, and that too in the triptych format that looks good only on Threads.
@manton I think if there was a desktop app at or near launch, I'd keep it as a regular part of my routine. But without that, I'm trying to avoid my phone during the work week already and so it falls away.
@manton Sounds cool. And video? I see that you use youtube to show new functions. Why not dogfooding?
@g Micro.blog is limited to shorter videos, so I sometimes default to just using YouTube rather than have the videos split across different places. I have used video on my blog and the news blog, though, and probably should do more of that.
@manton I feel similarly about Bluesky. I guess I’ll leave syndication on for now, but I’m not sure if I want to bother with interacting with stuff outside the fediverse.
