Others have said this before, but there really needs to be a way to log in to Micro.blog other than a link sent to an email address. I’m trying to log in on my iPad and still haven’t received the email.

@gdp There are two other ways at the moment:

  • Sign in with Apple
  • Code sent via phone

Are either of those viable options for you?

@SimonWoods @gdp The code is sent also to your email, right? I usually get the email pretty quickly. Checked your spam? Or rechecked the email you are entering?

@pratik @SimonWoods Yes, the code is also sent by email. It never arrived this time. And Apple sign in is not available in the iPad app.

@gdp Don’t use a different email address when signing in (like Sign in with Apple) or it will create a new account

@pratik LOL I’m definitely using the correct email address. It’s just not arriving.

@gdp Then you’re smarter than I am 😀 Just one of those days on Micro.blog I guess.

@pratik @gdp @SimonWoods I am also in this category. I don't receive many service's password reset/OTP codes at my Outlook.com email address and Micro.blog is one such.

@gdp @pratik @aurora Sounds like @help is needed. (I'm looking forward to the planned improvements in this process — email reliability appears to have become much worse in recent years, in general)

@SimonWoods @pratik @aurora @help The sign-in emails—all nine of them—magically arrived overnight, hours after I needed them.

@gdp @help This is the down side of Micro.blog’s clever attempt at keeping everything centered on the domain. While it works in practice most of the time these days, e-mail was never designed to be a real-time messaging system. The protocols just can’t support it. We need an SMS for domains.
