Finished reading: How to Read a Book by Mortimer J. Adler đ
This was a hard one to read. I will probably make a few adjustments on my reading process after having gone through the book, but I would have preferred reading a summery over reading the whole book.
@jeroensangers I've been thinking about reading this book, after I got so much out of How to take smart notes earlier this year. Maybe first I should checkout the summary on Shortform.
@garo But the Shortform signup process is a dark pattern âšī¸. It's free to sign up, but you can't really do anything until you convert to the 5 day free trial for the paid service. I understand that we all gotta pay for things, I just would rather they were up front about it.
@garo According to the authors, 99% of the books should be read using the techniques of inspectional reading and, in my opinion, their own book falls in this category. I think a good summary would suffice to get an idea of the methods explaines in the book.
