Rediscovering drop shadows.

@manton I’ve been seeing drop shadows make a comeback in web design.

@flotisserie Interesting. I need to start looking out for that. Some of my designs have gotten too flat.

@manton always loved them. Depth is a very good UI element

@manton it’s been… can’t be bothered to count, let’s settle on “well over a decade“, since iOS 7 and while a lot of it has been dialed back, shadows are still mostly missing. The time is ripe.

@manton I’m still not ready for textured backgrounds to make a comeback though.

@manton Drop shadows are great. Like everything, you just need to use it in moderation.

@manton Folks always go back and forth on this. I’m also observing a slow return to script and serif fonts!

@flotisserie I’ve noticed that a little too. I wonder if more apps will have serif options, at least for reading views.

@flotisserie I just never stopped using a script (well, handwritten) font on my site … just wait long enough, and you’ll be trendy again
