Nailed it. I’m too amused by wall outlets and light switches gone wrong, it’s surprisingly common. This one in the hotel stairway.

An electrical outlet is installed on the edge where two walls meet with the plastic needed to be cut, surrounded by a textured gray wall.

@manton I was in an airport a few years ago and spotted a receptacle in a nice area to sit and charge. Turns out it was just a sticker of a receptacle photo. Somebody is out there having played a hell of a prank.

@manton LOL. We have a couple of those. I am developing a kind of x-ray vision into walls as a result of remodeling our own house. I would bet that the bump in the wall is a duct that got added after the electrician roughed in the outlet, resulting in a problem the electrician was blamed for but couldn’t be expected to see.
