Trying out the Cappuccino feed reader. Looks like it has partial compatibility with JSON Feed too. (Works in some feeds, but not the Micro.blog timeline feed.)

@manton I'm missing RSS. It was a great standard, but it seems, that publishers and social networks prefer more and more a proprietary API.

@manton I’m looking for an RSS reader that would be just a timeline, like on social networks and Micro.blog. And like Google Reader was. All current ones focus on individual sources/authors in the sidebar, and don’t cater for my preferred “just scroll” reading mode.

@arturi I'm not aware of a feed reader that works like that right now either.

@arturi @manton check out Dave Winer's “River of News” style readers, like River3 or River5

@arturi @manton note that those aren't hosted options, you've gotta host 'em yourself. I've found a lot of Dave's stuff to be a wee bit finky to selfhost, in the past.

@manton Checked it out too. Dealbreaker for me that it doesn’t support Safari view controller/Reader mode and Feedbin. Back to Reeder

@manton I get a wierd "Damaged" error on OSX with a request to delete and re-download. Also, it seems to present the linked article rather than say, the linking comment, as with Daring Fireball. Otherwise I like the design.
