@fahrni It’s complicated. It’s also frustrating because where most people live — Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio — all voted for Biden. If everyone who cared about women’s rights left, it would be worse. 🙁
@fahrni I want to believe it’s more nuanced than that, but then again maybe not. Fun-fact: In Norway we say completely Texas if something is wild or crazy. I think it’s from reading fiction about the American West, (Wild West).
@manton It’s just so infuriating to see a population of people revel in inflicting pain on others.
I don’t understand the GOP and probably never will.
All Americans, including Texans, deserve better.
@odd Texas has always been that state with an oversized ego just like Florida is where all the crazy people live. 😃
Of course I lived most of my life in California. I was born in a lovely, liberal, place.
My new home state, Virginia, is full of confederate loving racists. It’s a strange place to live. We’re only here because it’s where our grandchildren landed with our daughter and son-in-law.
If I could move back to California with my entire family in tow, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
@fahrni I was born in Texas but moved away as a young child. My first job after grad school brought me back, where I lived for a few years. I decided that I had to leave back in 1996 when I thought the politics had become intolerable. I had no idea how much worse it would eventually become.
@dynamitemoth You’re one of the lucky ones I suppose.
I know there are plenty of reasonable, lovely, folks in Texas.
