If you could put a short phrase/question on a bracelet (or somewhere else you’d regularly see it), in order to help you make better decisions, big or small, to improve your life, what would it say?

@joshuapsteele This gives me flashbacks to the WWJD bracelets I wore as a kid. 😒 😂

@cjhubbs Yep! What’s a phrase/question that would actually work for you? lol

@joshuapsteele That’s a great question that I don’t have a good answer for. I’ve asked myself the same sort of thing when I’ve considered getting a tattoo, but never come up with something meaningful enough I wanted to make it permanent.

@joshuapsteele For years I’ve worn a ring with “Господи Иисусе Христе, Сыне Божий, помилуй мя, грешнаго” inscribed. Have I made better decisions? I don’t know.

@joshuapsteele I think it was a Comment or Plough essay (don’t recall the author) not too long ago that used the phrase “As for me in my house, we will go slow and fix things.” I’m not bedazzled or sloganed in my attire, but I’d put that carved in something over my mantle

@joshuapsteele I would have one on each wrist. One would say “Remember the Lemons” and the other would say “Forget the Lemons.”

I’m entirely serious, but the reason is too complicated to explain, so let’s just say it’s a Zen thing.

@dwalbert @joshuapsteele Reminded me of a tale of a rabbi who had his students carry two stones in their pockets; on one was written “I am dust and ashes”; on the other “For me God made the world.” The idea was that when you start dwelling on either one, it’s time to switch to the other.
