@vincent My favourite thing about pinned profiles is how quickly and easily it solves this problem; I can hand-pick the people who are genuinely worth me checking with such intensity. Between that, Bookmarks, RSS, and you know, browser bookmarks I feel much happier about various uses of the timeline when compared to the timeline sync mechanism.

@vincent I agree 100% with you. I dislike both timeline position memory and those pesky numbers showing how many posts behind I am. This doesnโ€™t solve FOMO, really and goes against digital wellnessโ€ฆ

@vincent @pimoore ah, I forgot that it was only in the beta before I replied. ๐Ÿ™ˆ Thanks for clarifying.

@danielsantos Arenโ€™t the pesky numbers more to blame than timeline sync? People can always tap to go to the top but not the other way around unless itโ€™s designed to give that choice @vincent

@pratik I guess the numbers cause more anxiety. Maybe apps should do like @vincent implemented it in Gluon, and display only โ€œnewโ€ somewhere, without saying how manyโ€ฆ and sure, a single tap moves us to the top :)

@vincent ๐Ÿ˜‹ this is what I like with mastodon apps and dislike with micro.blog apps ๐Ÿ˜
