Meanwhile I run Wordpress app on phone and from drafts use share sheet to push draft content to the app and thus the blog - also works for micro blog

@JohnPhilpin Which hosting provider are you using for WP? Thames? How easy or hard to maintain the WP site for microblogging?

@JohnPhilpin as a follow-up, I’d looked into Siteground back in March. I just haven’t yet had the time to work out and follow through the migration process.

@sumudu Hope you don’t mind me jumping in here.
I found the instructions of setting up WP for IndieWeb very useful, as a lot of the indieweb requirements cover what’s needed for micro.blog.
I’ve also used siteground before and they’re very good. I would also suggest Bluehost, as that’s what I’m using now and they’re infinitely patient with all my inane requests.

@vishae ManyThanks. Right now, I'm not in a mood to try out another self hosting service, after struggling with trying to self-host Ghost blooging platform. I like Ghost for it's UI, simplicity and ease of use. I know, Ghost may not be in indieweb thing though.

@JohnPhilpin finally bit-the-bullet and switched to SiteGround last night. Not sure it’s all transitioned and setup just yet, but looking forward to having the indie blog(s)

@JohnPhilpin you’re mostly right. My main site currently is career oriented, with micro.derekpeden.com as microblog. Except I seem to be in DNS transfer mode... I think. It’s all in a state of flux. I’m still out of my depth but learning as I go.

@derekpeden something odd going on with the micro site (DNS settings is best guess) … https gives you a warning and http resolves to the top level domain

@JohnPhilpin I've seen that. I don't know if it will resolve itself or needs me to change something. If so I've no idea what to change.

@derekpeden i do know that @manton has to do something at his end if you are running https - also in cpanel make sure that micro.derekpeden.com is pointing to Manton's world

@JohnPhilpin seems to domain is still being transferred from Wordpress
