My long weekend project: getting music onto this 2nd gen iPod. Surprisingly difficult since I had to both find a software update package, and a version of iTunes that still works on OS X 10.4/PPC
@AlanRalph have you checked out Shop Goodwill? I’ve gotten many of the things in my retro collection from there. Stuff tends to go for 10-20% less. Usually the trick for getting a good deal is to find listings which are slightly mislabeled
@decarbonization I'm new to micro.blog. Still trying to figure out what it is, a community or a blog hive thing? Anyway, seeing a lot of iOS, Mac, etc. posts. Hopefully an android and windows guy is welcome here.
@MrGibber I think I would describe micro.blog as a community built on top of a blog hive. I wouldn’t worry about not being an iOS / Mac user, the community here is very chill. I regularly post about non-Apple retro tech and it’s not a big deal
