SCOTUS’ ruling on gerrymandering may be as bad as Citizens United, and another nail in the coffin of the Republic. We now have a Supreme Court that serves to only fulfill the wishes of Republicans.

@frankm I'm frustrated by the ruling. I guess we're in a state-by-state battle to make gerrymandering illegal? A slower road, for sure.
@Cheri It will probably take amendments to state constitutions to get it nearly irrevokable, making it even slower.
@Cheri Current make of SCOTUS suggests it will punt anything controversial to the states. Roe v. Wade will likely be declared overeach and reverted to the states to decide for themselves.
@ddykstal You are right however, what is really being asked is for the parties to police themselves. I am skeptical that either party will give up the power to protect itself through gerrymandering which is why this is an instance where the courts should have made a decision. Republicans have been executing on a clear strategy to preserve itself despite not being a majority.
