I keep thinking about this story I read on NPR yesterday about a chance encounter and a stranger’s kindness. 一期一会. “One time, one meeting.” We’re all just passing briefly in and out of each other’s lives.

@manton thanks for sharing this. Such a good story, and such a good encouragement to care for the stranger. Reminds me of अतिथिदेवो भव: — the stranger is akin to the divine. Why not regard that chance encounter as a brush with someone wonderful?

@manton whoever wrote the Epistle to the Hebrews has a similar moment where they write that those who show hospitality to strangers have sometimes “entertained angels unawares.” The idea is one that lifts small and simple acts of kindness into the realm of magnificent possibilities. Thanks again for sharing this.
