Changing the AT Proto handle to a custom domain name while testing my PDS, and it automagically changed in Bluesky while the browser was open. Very cool.

@manton what will the end result be? every user of micro.blog will have a PDS of their own? will it be visible to them? and i understand this is meant to be a bootstrap, but are there any services that read these PDSes, if so what do they do?

@dave To start with, it will only create a PDS lazily for new users who aren’t already using Bluesky with Micro.blog. I’m trying to avoid a user ending up with multiple PDSes (the Bluesky-hosted one and the Micro.blog-hosted one). The primary use is Bluesky for now, but other apps could use it.

@manton – i keep waiting for the gestalt, all of a sudden seeing what’s on the other end of this work to create this thing that’s a PDS that so far looks pretty much like RSS, btw. ;-)
