I thought our Standard.site support was broken, but then remembered it only works when Micro.blog is configured to embed previews for links. Updated the help page of Bluesky technical bits to document this.
@manton I wonder if it makes sense to try to implement standard.site in the context of rss.chat?
My brain is so overloaded with formats and protocols these days, not sure if that question even means anything.
@dave Maybe. If there was a connection between an RSS.chat post and a Bluesky post, then that could work. It would mean adding some AT Protocol plumbing to RSS.chat, though.
@manton — the plumbing could be anywhere. And I thought standard.site didn’t have the limits of Bluesky? Docs can have style, links, more than 300 chars, titles, can be edited, etc. that’s more important than the plumbing. I’m interested in eliminating the barriers.
@dave That’s right, it’s really designed for long-form blog posts. There would probably need to be something that copied the RSS.chat posts via AT Protocol to Bluesky (or another personal data server).
@manton I have wondered about that. I activated link previews. We’ll see how it looks on my next long post.
