When I found out Current was going to ship this week, I postponed making a video preview of my own RSS reader because it would feel like I was interfering with Current’s release. Now the tables have turned. Current is so popular that I just need to stay out of its way or I’ll get overshadowed. 🤪

@manton To me, Current sounds more like a reader for a stream (like Mastodon). Actually, I want to keep the articles I "collect", that's the whole point of my RSS reader (NetNewsWire). And I don't want to pay 10 bucks without testing.

@manton I have no idea what you product will do, but what I really missed on all readers I’ve tried was a social connection. I enjoy interacting with the writers, by that’s quite difficult from RSS readers. Micro.blog, on the other hand, has all the ingredientes to make RSS more social. I even envision the blogroll being automatically filled with URLs being followed on the reader.

@vladcampos I haven’t explored integrating with the blogroll yet but I like that idea. Both use OPML so it’s just a matter of syncing them up.

@manton — is your product that close to current? I don’t know anything about your product but imagine that, like micro.blog it’s server based. have you written about it? Of course would love to know more, but I’m patient. 😀
