If you have a new enough phone (e.g. iPhone X+) to enjoy eSIM, I really recommend Truphone. It’s great to have the freedom to easily purchase data plans abroad, but also in the US when you’re getting close to your limit but want to get a cheaper boost.

@danielpunkass I haven't even heard of that one, I've been using GigSky. It's so nice while I'm traveling!

@danielpunkass I'm such a huge fan of the eSIM thing! It's so nice landing from an international flight and already having data service. I used to race to find the nearest SIM store and buy data as soon as I got thru immigration.

@aaronpk yeah, it’s a game changer! And under-publicized as far as I can tell.

@danielpunkass @aaronpk My sister and brother-in-law are going to NZ next week, both have the 11XR, and it was news to them.

I used GigSky last year in Slovenia, per the recommendation of my German friends. That worked out great.

@danielpunkass I’ve never used any of them, but I’ve Airalo recommended as well.

@danielpunkass Took me so long to figure out what the whole eSIM thing was about, but I'm sold. I saw something yesterday about another company who's just launced voice and SMS esim packages also: eSIM.net. Haven't tried them out yet, but that's the ultimate game changer.
