i’m still feeling entirely weirded out by the state of social media at the moment.
i guess i just don’t really feel connected to anything right now.
RapidWeaver gave me the boit this year, now twitter — very strange.
@jeffperry last march they announced they would compete with Stacks directly and co-opt the Stacks API.
they said it was coming out in June but. it didn’t. other things happened instead.
in response i’ll produce a stand alone app. but i still have a lot of work to do.
@isaiah we’re very much in a transition now.
the good news is that the Stacks dev community is behind me and helping with StsvksPro. that community is 100% the real value here.
i feel so grateful they’re with me you can’t even imagine.
but wow.

@isaiah I gave up on all of Realmac products. I used RapidWeaver for a bit, but found I needed to buy add-ons to do anything interesting. I dropped them after they dropped Clear and Ember.
@ddykstal i write the add-on software that you n ended to buy. 😂
it’s been my primary income since 2007.
unfortunately realmac software and i have had a very strained relationship this year after they announced they would begin competing with me.
@danielpunkass last march Dan told me that RW would come with a new component would replace Stacks, use the Stacks API, and work with existing Stacks.
the details have changed quite a bit since then, i’m really not sure what their current plans are.
@danielpunkass but after the march announcement things went sideways fast. a lot of the add-on devs mutinied.
i decided it was probably a good time to break off and work on a stand-alone Stacks app.
StacksPro due out soon(ish) — in a few months.
@danielpunkass i’m not 100% sure what the long term plans for Realmac and RapidWeaver are.
if they keep building RW with an add-on API i’ll keep making plug-ins for it as long as they’ll let me.
@isaiah At least if you have your own standalone thing you’ll have a lot more ability to zig and zag.
@danielpunkass and, more than anything else, it’s just time for me to have an app…
for my own financial security of course…
but the users, devs, designers, and pros let me know loud and clear that they really want a stand alone Stacks app free of dependencies.
so… let’s go!
@ddykstal indeed when they ditched ember and then the markdown app they did and some other I liked I didn’t touch them again to many ditched apps and broken promises
